Introduction
Founded in April 2020, Hearth Fellowship was started to reach out to college students and young adults within the Exuberance congregation of the Central Campus of the Chinese Bible Church of San Diego (CBCSD). Although there were originally less than 10 members, we slowly grew to incorporate more and more members, eventually reaching a respectable size. On Nov 7, 2021, a decision among the Hearth Fellowship core, Exuberance leadership, and CBCSD leadership to form a Next Gen congregation as a new church ministry. Our Sunday worship service is designed and catered for English-speaking young adults and college students. Since then we have weekly Sunday worship and Hearth fellowship, and also frequently have events such as outings, outreach events, prayer meetings, worship nights, and more! We have also officially registered ourselves as a student organization at UCSD. On June 2023, we launched Young Adult Fellowship to reach out to graduate students, young professionals (those in the working field in their 20s). Please plan your visit to join us.
By God’s grace, Chinese Bible Church of San Diego (CBCSD) has been growing steadily since it started in 1987. We are still inadequate in many ways, so we humbly rely upon God’s mercy as we seek breakthroughs in our maturity, love, faith, and knowledge. Our goal is not to establish a big religious organization, but rather, our vision is to allow God to mold us into a healthy body of Christ. May all whom God brings to our church experience His love, and see His sovereignty upheld, His gospel proclaimed, His holiness revealed, and His name being glorified through us.
CBCSD is a non-denominational Christian church. In addition to the Main Campus in Carmel Mountain/Rancho Bernardo area, we have 4 campuses in San Diego and Riverside Counties: West, Central, North, and Temecula. The West Campus became independent in 2010 and is now called Living Water Bible Church. We also have a Downtown Worship Center serving seniors in the San Diego city center.
- The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the written record of His supernatural revelation of Himself to Man, absolute in its authority, complete in its revelation, final in its content, and without any errors in its teaching.
- God is One God, who reveals Himself in three Persons: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ, as the Scripture affirms, is the Son of God and Son of Man, was born of a virgin, and is Himself God.
- All men in their natural state are lost, alienated from God, and spiritually dead (Romans 3:23). Salvation is only by grace, a free gift of God, through faith in the Lord Jesus, who died for our sins according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3). Those who receive Christ by faith have their sins forgiven (Ephesians 1:7) and are made new creatures in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).
- Jesus Christ rose from the dead in the same body that was laid to rest in the tomb. The bodies of all believers who die will be raised from the dead, and they will receive an incorruptible body like unto His glorious body (1 Corinthians 15:53). All other men shall be raised unto the resurrection of judgment (John 5:28-29).
- Jesus Christ will come again to earth the second time (Hebrews 9:28) personally (Acts 1:11), bodily (Colossians 2:9), and visibly (Matthew 26:64). His coming will precede the age of universal peace and righteousness, foretold in the Scriptures (Matthew 24:29-42).
